The Meisterstück Calligraphy Solitaire Celadon Dégradé fountain pen features the Montblanc curved nib, which is particularly suited for intricate Chinese, Japanese and Korean calligraphy as well as for sketching and drawing designs. Ground at a 45º angle, the curved nib allows for a variety of line widths, shapes and styles, offering versatility of the nib that the art of calligraphy requires: depending on the angle of the curved nib on paper, the calligrapher can achieve wide horizontal lines and thin vertical lines while also turning the nib upside down for a fine line suited for detailed drawing.
In its form, the Meisterstück Calligraphy Solitaire Celadon Dégradé follows the timeless design codes of a classic Meisterstück fountain pen, including signature gold fittings and a cap top crowned with the Montblanc emblem. Hand-sculpted from solid Au 750/18K gold by master artisans over 35 skilled steps, the curved nib is embellished with a special embossing inspired by the movements of calligraphy. Capturing in its design details the beauty of traditional Chinese handcrafts, the cap and barrel of the Meisterstück Calligraphy Solitaire Celadon Dégradé feature a gradient translucent lacquer in a shade akin to jade green: the color celadon, inspired by the highly regarded Celadon porcelain of the same color originating in China. Below this translucent layer of lacquer, a special engraving in a gold color reinterprets a geometrical zig-zag pattern that is commonly seen in the traditional craft of bamboo weaving.
